Please complete all applicable fields in the online application. Failure to provide all requested materials will result in automatic dismissal of your application. All materials are due by March 20, 2013 for the application to be considered complete.

(3) professional letters of recommendation are required, (2) of which should provide character recommendations and at least (1) which certifies and summarizes your community service work.
The individuals preparing your recommendation letters should do so on their company letterhead, sign, and email a PDF of the recommendation to us at firstname.lastname@example.org from their business email account.
They should include your full name in the subject line of the email so that it's automatically added to your overall application file.
This is step is very important as we need to validate any content sent to us.
If you would like to confirm that your recommendation letters have been received by our office, you may do so via our website using your unique tracking number.

Discuss the candidate’s intelligence, academic performance, analytical abilities, and other characteristics which you think would contribute to success and completion of undergraduate studies.
For community service referrals, we suggest offering the following guidance to the referrer:
Please discuss this candidate’s suitability with particular emphasis on character, motivation, professionalism, work ethic, and attitude. Discuss the candidate’s attitude, communication skills, work ethic, dedication, and commitment to service in the African-American community. Discuss characteristics which you think contribute to superior scholastic achievement throughout the African-American community.

Student Photo ID
Along with your application, you need to submit a copy of your current college photo ID. If you are unable to upload the file with the application, please email it to us at email@example.com and include the following in the subject line: 'first, last name ID'.
The essay component must be typed and submitted in addition to the application. Essay requirement should be a minimal 3000 words, maximum 5000 words. The essay should incorporate why you should be selected to receive this distinguished award, what the Bleu Genez Scholarship means to you and your understanding of the organization. Additionally, highlight your goals, objectives, and methods that are in place or in planning to achieve stated goals/objectives. Be sure to discuss how the Bleu Genez Foundation may assist in your attainment of such goals and objectives. Lastly, address a controversial topic that's of importance to you and how you'd drive change/awareness to the matter.
The essay component must be included with the application materials. Do not send materials separately.
Additional GPA Essay Instructions:
Should you fail to meet the GPA requirement, an additional essay is necessary. DO NOT COMPLETE THIS ESSAY IF YOU MEET THE REQUIREMENT.
If your grade point average is below 3.0, an additional essay component is required. This allows striving achievers the opportunity to apply for the scholarship with the intent on increasing their GPA. The essay should be a minimum of 700 words and a maximum of 1000 words. The essay should discuss why your GPA is below the criteria, plans for raising your GPA, and why your GPA is essential to your academic success.
